Turin Pride 2025

Turin has been a pivotal city in Italy’s LGBTQIA+ movement since the early 1970s. In 1971, the Italian Revolutionary Homosexual Unitary Front (Fuori!) was established here, marking the beginning of organized LGBTQIA+ activism in the country. Turin hosted Italy’s first gay pride events in 1978 and 1979, with the latter featuring a public march and a meeting with the city’s mayor. The Coordinamento Torino Pride was formed in 2006 to organize the city’s Pride events, starting with the national Pride that year, which attracted 20,000 participants. Since then, Turin Pride has been an annual event, even adapting during the pandemic to maintain its presence both physically and online. The city has also hosted significant international LGBTQIA+ events, including the 15th annual ILGA Europe conference in 2011 and the 29th Annual meeting of the European Pride Organisers Association in 2022. In November 2024, Turin was selected to host EuroPride in 2027, underscoring its ongoing commitment to LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility.
