A website claims to have leaked JD Vance’s Spotify listening data, and the US Vice President allegedly has playlists featuring boybands, Whitney Houston, and other gay anthems.
According to a new report in WIRED, the 40-year-old Republican, who has recently faced criticism for a social media post about the trans community and other comments on freedom of speech and bodily autonomy, may be a Spotify user.
Vance and other Trump administration members
Vance and other Trump administration members are named on an anonymous website that claims to reveal “the real Spotify accounts of celebrities, politicians, and journalists.”
The site, called “Panama Playlists” — a reference to the 2016 Panama Papers leak — claims that an account linked to the Vice President has a public playlist titled “Gold on the Ceiling.” The name appears to reference the recently announced $200 million construction of a White House ballroom, which will feature gold interior accents.
Songs on the Alleged Playlist
The alleged “Gold on the Ceiling” playlist includes:
-
One Direction
-
Whitney Houston
-
“Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman, often described as a lesbian anthem
A second playlist allegedly linked to the politician, titled “Making Dinner,” includes:
-
Justin Bieber’s “One Time”
-
Backstreet Boys
-
Two tracks from Florence + The Machine
Other Figures Named in the Leak
The anonymous site also lists playlists allegedly linked to other government officials:
-
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt — Beyoncé, Cyndi Lauper, Shaboozey
-
Ron DeSantis — Queen, Elton John, Miley Cyrus
-
Mike Johnson
-
Attorney General Pam Bondi
